One effective classroom management technique I have employed throughout my time teaching is the creation and use of a syllabus for each grade and/or class I have taught. During my time in K-12, I created both early childhood and high school syllabi to reflect the expectations and guidelines for success each year. The early childhood syllabus was written to the children's parents while the high school syllabus was given directly to the students. While some similarities existed between the early childhood and high school documents, there were also some significant differences, based upon the developmental and age levels of the students. An example of the high school syllabus follows.
